CHICAGO – They’re back! The high-flying, gravity-defying and amazingly supple acrobats of Cirque Shanghai return to Chicago this summer as Navy PierŽ announces the highly anticipated return of Cirque Shanghai at the PepsiŽ Skyline StageŽ Wednesday, June 4–Monday, Sept. 1. Presented in partnership with International Special Attractions (ISA) and featuring gold award-winning acts direct from China, Cirque Shanghai debuts the world premiere of its newest theatrical production, Cirque Shanghai: Gold. With a nod to this summer’s Olympics, Cirque Shanghai: Gold features performers whose troupe has been honored with gold awards in international circus and acrobatic competitions. Their signature style combines time-honored Chinese acrobatic wonder with fast-paced production elements, contemporary visuals, inventive choreography, stunning costumes and thrilling music. The result is an exhilarating display of agility, strength and balance seen nowhere else in the world this summer but at Chicago’s Navy Pier.
